Plan A Visit

We are so glad you are here!

We want to start by thanking you for considering a visit to our church. We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-wracking. We recognize that this can be a big deal and we want to help make your first experience at LIFE ON MAIN a great one.

LIFE ON MAIN meets at the Charlestown Senior Center, 223 Od Springfield Road, Charlestown, NH. Our services take place every Sunday at 11 AM, with a coffee hour beginning at 10 AM.

SO HOW DO I FIND YOU?

Charlestown, NH is located on the banks of the Connecticut River that flows between Vermont and New Hampshire. State Route 12 goes right through the center of town.

If you are coming via Interstate 91, regardless of the direction, you will take Exit 7 for Springfield VT and take a left off the exit ramp. From there, you will follow the same directions as though coming from Springfield VT.

From Springfield VT:
Travel east on VT State Route 11 into NH across the Connecticut River bridge. Take the first right after Ray-Tech onto Old Springfield Road. The Senior Center will be on your right.

From Claremont NH:
Travel south on NH State Route 12 toward Charlestown. Turn right onto Route 11 West toward Vermont. Take the first left onto Old Springfield Road. The Senior Center will be on your right.

From North Walpole NH:
Travel north on NH State Route 12 through the center of Charlestown. Turn left onto Bridge Street (across from the police station). Take an immediate right after the wooden bridge onto Old Springfield Road. The Senior Center will be on your left.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

In total, a LIFE ON MAIN church service is about 75 minutes in length. When you arrive, whether for the coffee hour at 10 or the service at 11, you will enter through a door with a "LIFE ON MAIN - A FOURSQUARE CHURCH" sign attached to it. You will enter into the main meeting room. Coffee can be found straight ahead once you enter. You will be met by someone at the door who will hand you a bulletin and a gift bag. They can also answer any questions you may have. There is an information table just inside the door to the right where you can find information about the church. Song books are also available there for use during the service. You are invited to grab a coffee and find a seat in the "sanctuary" section, or sit down at the table and enjoy some good conversation. If you need a restroom, they can be found through the doors behind the information table area.

Before the service begins, announcement slides are playing on the movie screen. As service time gets closer, some live instrumental music will be played on the cello and/or piano. Our music leader will then welcome people and lead us in a few songs. The lyrics for all songs are projected on the movie screen, but song books can be used for some of the older traditional hymns if people would like. Feel free to sing along and/or engage with the worship music however you feel comfortable. Some people just sing, while others have been known to kneel or raise hands to the Lord as they feel inclined.

After the music portion of service is complete, one of our pastors will come to the front and lead in a prayer. We then often read a portion of scripture together, alternating between the reader up front and the congregation. Another pastor shares a word of encouragement known as the "God Moment" - a reading in the first person as though God Himself was saying it. These moments are based on Scripture. After this, announcements and upcoming events are shared.

To round out our time together, the lead pastor, one of our other pastors, or a special speaker shares from the Bible an encouraging and hope-filled message about the Lord Jesus and the Christian life to help us mature spiritually. We close with a final song and a prayer.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

We believe that kids should look forward to coming to church and we want to make that a priority. Though currently we only have nursery-aged children, we are equipped to provide a children's program should any kids arrive. They do not have to participate in our children's program if they would rather sit in the service, but it is an option for them.

In addition to providing an enjoyable time for them, we also prioritize your children's safety. All of our children's workers have undergone background checks and completed a training program focusing on child safety. We also have trained covert security personnel on the premises to ensure safety of everyone that attends. We always have at least two workers with the children and the kids are never left by themselves. They are even escorted to bathroom visits. There are also security cameras in children's ministry areas for surveillance purposes. There is a check-in procedure for which we encourage you to arrive 5 minutes early to complete the first time you come.

As mentioned, we do currently have a nursery available for parents with infants. This area is two rooms removed from the main meeting room for increased privacy. We have people who can watch your little ones or you can use the room yourself. You do not need to worry about missing any of the service as a video feed is provided in the nursery. A Pack-N-Play playpen is provided and there is a changing table in the handicap bathroom for your convenience.
